We’re looking for the following qualities in our market stand staff:
✶ Outgoing toward the public, engages in conversation, and has patience to explain the properties and benefits of the herbs.
✶ Reliable and on-time attendance for shifts; ability to commit to a schedule and agrees to work a set amount of time ~ we will discuss this and outline an agreement of sorts for your schedule. Please note the farm needs stability and continuity with market stand help so we can focus on getting herbs to people!
✶ Attention to detail and the ongoing maintenance of the stand during the market day. We have been doing markets for over a decade and have a method to our stand set up that positions the herbs and products in the best possible way for customers to enjoy them while encouraging sales for the farm.
✶ A genuine interest in the well-being of others!
compensation
Our starting rate for the stand is $16 per hour.
We handle our New York staff as independent contractors and will submit a 1099 for tax purposes.

We want to make sure this will be a good fit.
The market is a great social and culinary experience to enjoy ~ while also making sure the farm is supported by taking care of customers and sales. We spend a lot of time educating about the plants and products, you’ll end up learning a lot and will become experienced with fresh herbs.
It’s physical and all weather so please make sure you’re up to it!
